Koufonissi, a small complex of the Lesser Eastern Cyclades, which includes Ano and Kato Koufonissi, separated by a narrow 200 m strait. Near them is Naxos to the east, Amorgos to the west and also the deserted Keros, which is a protected archaeological site area, since important finds of Cycladic art have been found on its territory.

The people of Koufonisi are famous for their fun. On Saint George's Day, the "festival" surrounds the icon of the Saint with the island's boats accompanying him sailing along the coastline. On June 24th, the "fisherman's festival" is organized with an offer of jackfruit. On the fifteenth of August, the locals travel by boat to Kato Koufonissi for the great festival of Panagia.
